Chronicle of Higher Education's "Academe Today"
The Academe Today web page is restricted to subscribers to the Chronicle of Higher Education. In addition to providing the full text of the current issue of the Chronicle and a searchable index to back issues since 1990, it includes a guide to academic resources on the Internet, a list of new grant competitions and a list of upcoming deadlines for fellowships and grants. College Planning Quarterly
College Planning Quarterly is a newsletter about preparing for college for parents and their children. It contains up-to-date information about college admissions, scholarships and financial aid, as well as tips and step-by-step guides to help you through the process. Subscriptions are available for $19.95 per year, a 33% savings off the regular price. (Outside the US, add $10 postage.) Renewals cost $29.95. Three-year subscriptions are available for $58 (add $25 postage outside the US). Ferguson's Off to College
Off to College is published six times during the academic year (from September through June). This newsletter is intended to provide counselors with practical, general information about college life and college admissions. The material is of interest to students and parents in addition to guidance counselors. The topics covered include financial aid, both news issues and lists of awards. Solutions is Octameron's college planning newsletter. In addition to college admissions information, it includes status reports on federal and state aid programs, discussions of trends in financial aid, book reviews and case studies of successful aid applicants. The cost for a year's subscription (10 issues) is $60. Guidance counselors are permitted to photocopy articles for their students.
