The FINAID-L mailing list is a discussion list for issues facing financial aid offices. Please do not send requests for scholarship information to the list. FINNET-L (Financial Aid Systems Programmers)
FINNET-L is a technical mailing list for discussion of computerized systems for awarding and delivery of financial aid. This list is not intended as a forum for seeking, or providing, advice or counseling on how to obtain financial aid. Most of the members of this list are programmers employed by financial aid offices. The list is owned by Todd Sibert of Bethel College.

FINAID-DATA-L (Financial Aid Data and Research)
FINAID-DATA-L is intended to facilitate the discussion of the collection and analysis of student financial aid data and related data. Related topics include data about financial need, the usage of financial aid, enrollment trends, and the role of financial aid in access, choice, persistence and completion.

This list is not for discussion of broader issues concerning the administration of financial aid. Please use the FINAID-L mailing list for that.

This list is not for the discussion of computerized systems for awarding and delivery of financial aid. Please use FINNET-L and vendor-specific lists for discussion of commercial products, systems and services.

MEDAID-L (Medical School Financial Aid Administrators)
MEDAID-L is similar in concept to FINAID-L, but is restricted to aid issues for Medical Schools and all other Health Profession schools. The list is owned by Tony Sozzo of New York Medical College and has more than 250 subscribers.

Student Aid Policy

Project on Student Debt
The Project on Student Debt's forum focuses on discussion of current trends and policies related to student loans and student debt. Topics include student debt and its impact on individuals and society, ways to reduce the burdens that student loan debt places on families, the effectiveness of loan programs as a tool for college access, and how the loan programs could be improved at the federal level. This forum is not focused on practical, consumer-oriented advice about the payment, choice, or administration of loans.

Default Prevention
The default prevention mailing list is intended to provide a forum for discussing methods of helping student borrowers avoid defaulting on their loans.

DIV1FA (Division I Financial Aid)
DIV1FA is a mailing list for financial aid professionals to share financial aid information that relates to the eligibility and awarding of athletic student aid at Division I institutions of higher education. To subscribe, the chief financial aid officer at the college or university should send email to DIV1FA@syr.edu providing the name, title and email address of the subscriber, as well as the subscriber's number of years working with NCAA financial aid issues.

CIE-NEWS (International Opportunities)
CIE-NEWS is a service of the Center for International Education (CIE) at the University of California, Irvine. CIE-NEWS provides information about international opportunities - such as study, work, internships, volunteer, research and teaching (non-credentialed) experiences - available through the UC Education Abroad Program (EAP) and UCI's International Opportunities Program (IOP). The latter serves as a resource center for information on other institutions and programs throughout the world. The CIE-NEWS list often includes information about scholarships for study abroad.

CIE-NEWS is published primarily for members of the UCI community, but other individuals interested in international experiences may find the information useful. CIE-NEWS is distributed on a biweekly basis during the academic year. It is in newsletter format and is not a discussion group. However, contributions of relevant information are welcome and may be sent to cie@uci.edu.

EDInfo is a mailing list established by the US Department of Education to provide information about new initiatives and programs, programs from the US Department of Education, including newly published reports, announcements of grant opportunities, and updates to their Web and Gopher sites. EDInfo provides three email messages per week.
